Renewable Heat Incentive
To meet the 2020 15% renewable energy target the Government need to develop new ways of generating renewable energy in all sectors including heat energy.
Heat generated by renewable sources accounts for 1% of total heat demand – this may need to rise to 12% to hit the UK’s binding EU targets.
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will be a world first to provide financial support for businesses organisations and domestic users who install renewable sources of heating such as Envirotec and Toshibas Air source Heat Pump Air curtains. http://www.envirotec.co.uk/
As an incentive to install renewable heat sources the Government backed scheme will reward users for every kilowatt hour of heat produced by a qualifying heat source.
Renewable heating systems installed after 15 July 2009 should be eligible to claim when the tariff becomes live in April 2011.
