Optimising air curtain efficiency
Any retailer looking to install new air curtains, or upgrade existing ones, needs to ensure they will operate with maximum energy efficiency, warns air curtain specialist Envirotec.
“Extensive trials have shown that a correctly designed air curtain will improve energy efficiency – reducing heat loss by as much as 80% - compared to unprotected doorways,” notes Envirotec Development Director Steve Brown. “However, it’s crucial that the air curtain is correctly specified for the doorway it is protecting. There may also be opportunities to utilise low carbon, low energy heat sources such as heat pumps,” he adds.
Envirotec offers heat pump versions of all of its popular Enviroscreen and EAB Air Barrier air curtains. Sophisticated controls ensure the air curtains are highly responsive to changing conditions, for maximum comfort and efficiency.
